Fun Fact:
Coach Lecky did not pick up lacrosse until half-way through his Freshman year of high school on Nantucket Island. He was cut from the first club team that he tried out for and used that as motivation to improve his game and tryout again to not only make the team but earn himself a spot as one of the key players on the team.
Favorite thing to do on days off:
Listen to music, spend time with friends, get outdoors and read a good book.
Biography:
Lacrosse accomplishments - He moved to Duxbury, MA for his Junior and Senior years enjoying two Massachusetts State Championships under Coach Chris Sweet. He was a High School All American, Boston Globe All Star, Under Armour All American, Fabulous 40 Top Star, Hobart All Star and Top Gun All Star team member. Hakeem spent his post-graduate year at Avon Old Farms School where he was instrumental in establishing the Dr. Skip Flanagan Scholarship to honor his Coach. Hakeem was named to the Prep School All Star team where he tallied 7 goals and 3 assists. He played on championship teams at both Lake Placid and Vail. While earning his Masters at Syracuse University he was a member of the team that played in the NCAA finals game as well as earned an ACC Championship title, playing alongside several current Sweetlax Coaches. Lecky was a two-time Captain at Syracuse University with teammate and friend, Derek Maltz.
Coaching accomplishments - Coach Lecky alongside with former teammates Derek Maltz and Randy Staats were key contributors in getting the Sweetlax Florida program off the ground. Alongside Matt Kunkel and Derek Sweet, Coach Lecky coached the 2020 Florida team in their first season
