Coaching acomplishments

I love partaking in coaching and giving back to Sweetlax because Sweetlax contributed to my success in lacrosse so immensely. Every time I get to walk on the field with a young team I learn just as much as they do. Every practice I'm constantly laughing, teaching, learning and constantly making new connection between new players and other coaches. The greatest thing about being a coach is keeping an open mind and listening to everyone's perspective about situations in the game, especially the older guys and the guys way before my time. This gives me the opportunity to enhance my game for when I return to university in the fall.

Biography

Coach Brooks is currently a junior Midfielder at Mercyhurst University. As a freshman he played in 10 of 16 games and started all 14 games as a sophomore. Brooks is from Rochester, NY where he played for West Irondequoit High School. During his time at West Irondequoit he was a 2-time All Greater Rochester player, 2013 Player of the Year for Class B, ECAC All-League conference player  and 2013 High School All-American. Brooks and his West Irondequoit team were Brogden Cup Champions, State High School finalist in 2012, went to the NCAA Playoffs in 2013 and 3-time Section V Champions (2011, 2012 & 2012).
