Sweetlax Lacrosse announces the Sweetlax Lacrosse Boca Raton Clinic to be held on Sunday, March 13th at St. Andrews School.
The morning and afternoon clinics will be led by two-time Syracuse University Captains Derek Maltz & Hakeem Lecky. This clinic is open to all boys lacrosse players in these high school graduation years: 2017 through 2022.

Coach Profiles:
Coach Derek Maltz
Derek played four seasons at Syracuse University alongside several of our Sweetlax Coaching Staff from 2011 to 2014. As a sophomore and junior, Maltz started every game. During his sophomore year, he led the team with 28 goals and was second in scoring as a junior with 32 goals.
Maltz was named a team co-captain in 2013 and 2014 and helped the Orangemen to four consecutive NCAA tournament appearances, including a run to the final in 2013. After college, Maltz was drafted 39th overall in the Major League Lacrosse Collegiate Draft by the Ohio Machine. In his debut with the Machine, Maltz had 4 goals and was named the Cascade Rookie of the Week. He currently coaches the Sweetlax Upstate 2019 team alongside Bobby Wynne, Head Coach at the Salisbury School. The 2019 team has 11 players currently committed to colleges including Maryland, Ohio State, Michigan and Johns Hopkins.
Coach Hakeem Lecky
Hakeem’s lacrosse career started half way through his freshman year in high school on Nantucket Island. He moved to Duxbury, Mass. for his junior and senior year enjoying two Massachusetts State Championships under Coach Chris Sweet. He was a High School All American, Boston Globe All Star, Under Armour All American, Fabulous 40 Top Star, Hobart All Star and Top Gun All Star team member. Hakeem spent his post-graduate year at Avon Old Farms where was instrumental in establishing the Dr. Skip Flanagan Scholarship to honor his coach, and was named to the Prep School All Star Team where he tallied 7 goals and 3 assists. He has played on championship teams at both Lake Placid, New York and Vail, Colorado.
While earning his Masters at Syracuse University he was a member of the team that played in the NCAA finals game as well as the ACC Champions. He currently is playing professionally with the Atlanta Blaze with fellow Sweetlax coach Randy Staats. Hakeem presently resides in Manhattan and works in commercial real estate.
