Event for 7th and 8th grade club players includes instruction from pro players Joe Walters, Randy Staats and Mike Manle
Sweetlax Lacrosse has announced a play day of youth lacrosse on Sunday at Calkins Road Middle School in Pittsford.
Sweetlax will be hosting teams from Canada and upstate New York featuring 7th and 8th grade players. Between games, local professional lacrosse players Joe Walters, Randy Staats and Mike Manley will be working with each team in offensive and defensive clinics.
Sweetlax team rosters are made up of players from throughout Section V including Pittsford, Victor, Greece, Fairport, Penfield, Irondequoit, Canandaigua,Webster and Brockport.
This Fall Classic play day is similar to others Sweetlax has co-hosted at Cornell University, Maryland and Johns Hopkins.
The same Sweetlax teams attending the Fall Classic have been invited to a lacrosse play day hosted at the University of North Carolina on Dec. 3along with a campus tour on Dec. 4capped with a UNC basketball game at the Dean Smith Center. That event will feature Sweetlax Upstate players along with teams from Florida, Georgia, North Carolina and Maryland.
