Sweetlax Florida is proud to announce 2019 Defender Maximus Schalit (Mantanzas, FL) has verbally committed to Notre Dame.  As a Sweetlax Florida player Schalit notes that the program and Director of Recruiting Kevin Martin have, "guided me through this recruiting process and given me incredible chances to play for high quality teams at high level tournaments and be seen by the best colleges in the country."

Interview with Maximus:
Why did you choose Notre Dame to continue your education?
I chose to further my academic/lacrosse at the University of Notre Dame because it has been a dream of mine since I started playing 3 years ago. My first summer of playing lacrosse I went to a camp at UND and I was amazed by the campus and facilities. It is hard to find a better academic school as well, and the alumni system is second to none.

What advice would you give other players looking to play at the College level?
The advice I would give to any player is to play against the best talent possible. My first year, 7th grade year, I played for the local U-19 team because I knew that was where I was going to be playing against the best quality players. Although I would get beat 9/10 times, it made me a better player in the future.

What is your favorite part about playing for Sweetlax Florida?
Being able to play with other kids in my grade that all have the goals for the future, which is to play high level lacrosse at the next level.

What is your favorite subject in school?
Biology, it is also what I want to major in.

Favorite vacation spot?
Snowboarding in Vail, Colorado.

What is your favorite lacrosse moment so far?
Either winning the district championship last high school season or winning the Lake Placid tournament this past summer with Sweetlax National Team.

What do you do in your personal time to improve your game?
I usually weight train 4-5 times a week and play lacrosse 4 times a week. I also play box on Sundays.

I want to give a special thanks to my parents, who have pushed me through school and on the field. They have always told me that I will end up where I want to be if I continue to push myself, and the place I ended up is the place that I only thought was a dream. I also want to thank Coach Oliver and Coach Leann for giving up so much personal time to better me on the field and as a person. Go Irish!
