Upstate 2020 - Summer 2016 Team Recap

Note from Coach Pezz

The 2020 group had a pretty strong summer season.  Max Wagner was great with this group on the defensive end, and really helped develop a couple kids.  The core of this team has been together for 2+ years now, and the kids genuinely like each other.  They still have solid chemistry, and this is something I hope they will retain as kids start to make decisions on their college future.
Columbia, MD tournament – We had a competitive game against Orange Crush, boys dominated some other teams.

SweetLax Invitational – We had a couple solid games in this tournament, and hopefully, this will continue to only get stronger teams.  Great to get one tournament in locally, that was huge.

Naptown Challenge – We lost one game by a goal, the other games we played extremely well. This is not a tournament we’ll attend next year.

Young Guns – solid tournament, decent amount of coaches watching. We’ll possibly do this tournament again next year, a lot of schools watching.

We’ll be taking this group to some different tournaments ( Big4) as we hit our recruiting year stride.

Practice is important, key that our players participate as much as possible.

The next two years are the critical years for this group of kids.  I think this group has the core to stay close knit and have many successes as both individuals, as well as a team.

Upstate 2020 - Summer 2016 Team Recap

"SWEETLAX HAS QUICKLY ESTABLISHED ITSELF AS THE PREMIERE LACROSSE PROGRAM IN FLORIDA. MY SONS HAVE PLAYED FOR OTHER TEAMS AND NONE COME CLOSE TO THE HIGH-LEVEL OF COMPETITION AND ACCESS TO COLLEGE COACHES LIKE SWEETLAX. IF YOUR SON IS SERIOUS ABOUT PLAYING LACROSSE IN COLLEGE, YOU NEED TO GET HIM TO A TRYOUT."
